Honda, a Japanese automaker, has revealed a new 2023 Civic Type R hot-hatchback. It is the most powerful Honda R Series car ever produced.
Since 1997, this is the sixth Honda Civic Type R version. This car was built according to the Ultimate Sports 2.0 concept. It is based on the 11th-generation Civic. The car received a turbocharged 2-liter K20 engine as well as a 6-speed manual transmission. These have since been upgraded.
Front-wheel drive is retained, as well as wide wheel arches and 19-inch matte-black alloy wheels. The tires are bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. An upgraded Brembo brake system, with two-piece disc brakes, a radiator for improved cooling and a triple exhaust design were also installed.
Red bucket seats are featured in the cabin, as well as a classic-shaped leather wrapped steering wheel. A 10.2-inch touchscreen display was added to the center console of the infotainment system.
The acceleration time, top speed and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h have yet not been revealed. These characteristics will be revealed along with the price as soon as the car is released, which is expected to happen in the fall.
Deliveries to European customers are planned for the beginning of 2023.
