The iPhone 13 series is a huge success and regularly tops the smartphone sales charts. In the first quarter 2022, the iPhone 13 was the most-popular smartphone.
Apple allegedly claimed that the iPhone 14 series’ initial sales will surpass those of the iPhone 13 series. The upcoming September announcement of the next iPhone version will cause iPhone sales to slow down. The iPhone 13 series shipped 33% more units in July than the iPhone 12 series shipped the same month last year. This could indicate that the demand is not decreasing.
Apple is expecting even more from its upcoming iPhone 14 line. According to the source, the 2022 iPhone lineup is currently in test production. Mass production is scheduled for next month.
Apple will be offering the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Plus and 6.7 inch iPhone 14 Plus this year. The new Apple A16 Bionic SoC is available for professional models, while the Apple A15 Bionic SoC will be available for more affordable smartphones. Pro models will get new cutouts at their tops, while non-Pro models will keep their notches.
All smartphones will have 6GB RAM. However, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models come with LPDDR4 RAM. Pro devices will have faster LPDDR5 RAM. The Pro models will continue to include a telephoto lens.
Samsung Display will ship 145,000,000 OLED panels of medium and small sizes in the third quarter. These panels will be used in the Samsung Galaxy S22 and iPhone 14 series. Apple’s iPhone 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max OLED shipments will reach 80 million units.
It is expected that the announcement will be made on September 13th.
