DxOMark experts visited the Pixel 6a smartphone to assess its camera. They rated it highly, especially when you consider the sensors that underlie it.

Remember that Pixel 6a received the older Sony IMX363 with a resolution 12 megapixels. This is the same model Google used since Pixel 3. This sensor is 1/2.55 inches in optical format. Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have a 1/1.31 inch optical format sensor. It’s larger.

Google is known for its software-based camera optimization, and the Pixel 6a is no different. The smartphone scored 140 points for photo quality. This is quite impressive. Only 4 points are more for the Pixel 6 and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The novelty received 111 points for the video. This is an excellent score. Overall, it scored 130. The smartphone is now 21st in the overall ranking at the source, ahead of iPhone 13 Pro Max, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and almost all Samsung smartphones, and OnePlus 10 Pro.
