Henry Cavill’s Netflix departure is a sad day for The Witcher 3 Geralt actor
Finding one Witcher lover who is happy that Henry Cavill is leaving Netflix is difficult. More than 200,000 people have signed a petition to keep Cavill on the show as Geralt and fire the writers, which is quite impressive.
Liam Hemsworth will be taking over as Geralt for the series’ fourth season. We still have episodes full of Cavill goodness before that big change. Eurogamer reported that even Doug Cockle (voice actor for Geralt in The Witcher Games) isn’t thrilled by Cavill’s departure.
Cockle shared his memories with Cavill during the podcast episode. He said they spent an hour talking about the Witcher world and Geralt of Rivia. “I remember that we talked about Superman. We also talked about Geralt and The Witcher. If I recall correctly, we had similar thoughts about Geralt. He felt the same about Geralt not being emotionless, and we can see it in his performance.
“So yeah, it’s sad to see him go. I wish Liam Hemsworth all the best with this endeavor. It will be exciting to see his plans, but it is sad to see Henry go. Henry was a great guy.
We all feel the same way; it’s obvious. Cockle said that Hemsworth felt bad about wearing “Geralt-sized” shoes since “Henry truly embodied the role as Geralt in an amazing way.”
