Ford announced a huge recall of hybrid vehicles. This includes the 2020-2022 Linkoln Corsair Escape, Maverick and Escape models. Fire hazards are the reason for this recall campaign.
More than 100,000 vehicles are affected in the US. They all have a 2.5-liter engine and are hybrids in some form.
Ford states that an engine compartment can become clogged with engine oil or fuel vapors in the event of an internal combustion engine fault. This can cause an engine fire, component melting, and smoke.
Ford has yet to receive any reports about such incidents. Ford dealers have been notified and owners will be notified by August 8.
