Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 and Snapdragon W5 PLUS Gen 1 single-chip systems were announced on July 19. An Oppo spokesperson stated that Oppo will be the first company to launch a wearable device using the new SoC. These words have been confirmed by a couple of teasers.
The use of the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 platform is confirmed in the Oppo Watch 3. Another image shows the design of this watch. It is a promising novelty that looks a lot like the Apple Watch. The device will also feature an embedded SIM (eSIM), and a new version of ColorOS Watch that has an updated interface.
We will soon find out if the Oppo Watch 3 is the first Snapdragon W5 Generation 1 smartwatch. Mobvoi wants to be the first with their watches, and will likely launch new products on August 10.
