Phil Spencer, Xbox Boss, Says That Next-Gen Console Shortages will Continue into 2022
According to Xbox Series X and S head Phil Spencer, supply problems for the Xbox Series X & S will continue through 2022. Spencer spoke with The Wrap and expressed disappointment that more people were not able to purchase the next-generation console.
Spencer stated that “the thing that’s most disappointing” is the disappointment of fans, as people want the new consoles.
“They are good consoles. Both from us and other platform holders. They want the new functionality. He said that while we are working hard to bring them on the market, it will be a difficult task that we’ll have to overcome for quite some time.”
A shortage of chips is responsible for many of the problems surrounding these shortages. According to Spencer, chip shortages are not the only reason.
