According to a source, Samsung has announced that it will begin production of its latest mining chips. These are made according to the 3nm process technology. According to this parameter they are more advanced than any Samsung consumer semiconductor solutions.
Sources say that the first stage of production is complete. It is not clear when new products will be available on the market. These chips are expected to perform 23% better and have a higher energy efficiency of 45% than previous generations. The Korean giant has promised to release chips using the 2nm process technology by 2025. The most recent ASICs (Antminer S19X), are made according to 5nm standards.
Samsung began working with Synopsys, Ansys, and Siemens on new chips late last year.
