For the console release, SHEEPO announces a Quirky Platformer
There is no better way to get into Metroidvania than to travel through a strange world with a personified sheep-thing. SHEEPO developer Kyle Thompson announced via Twitter that his game will soon be available for consoles, one year after its original PC release. The title will be published by Top Hat Studios, and preorders for Nintendo Switch or Xbox are now available.
SHEEPO was developed by Kyle Thompson and the soundtrack was composed by Eric Thompson. It was released on PC via Steam in August 2020 to very positive reviews. Advertised as a “pacifist-metroidvania,” the game features a heavy emphasis on exploration and platforming. The game allows you to play into an adventure that is not linear. There are bosses, hidden areas and other characters. This SHEEPO review has more information.
Thompson, as noted on his twitter, has already begun work on an untitled sequel game, which is presumably not related to his previous work. However, no such updates have been made since April.
