Qualcomm finally announced the dates for its next Snapdragon Tech Summit. The annual event will be held from November 14-17. The exact location of the event for this year has yet to be announced. However, it is likely that it will take place in Hawaii.
Qualcomm could unveil its next-generation flagship mobile chipset at its annual tech conference, Snapdragon8 Gen 2. This chipset will be used in the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+. Rumours claim that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will still use TSMC’s 4nm process. Similar to the Snapdragon8+ Generation 1. This should not cause overheating or throttling.
The Snapdragon-equipped smartphones, which include the Xiaomi 13 series, will be available in December 2022.
Specifications for Snapdragon 8 Generation 2
Previous leaks indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will feature a unique 1+2+2+3 cluster CPU cores. One Cortex X3 CPU core could be included, along with two Cortex A720 CPU Cores and three Cortex A510 cores. It is possible to include the Adreno 740 GPU. A 5G modem with built-in capabilities will offer the fastest upload and download speeds. It will also support other wireless technologies like Wi-Fi 6E or Bluetooth 5.3.
According to rumours, Exynos 2300 is being developed by Samsung’s Systems LSI division. The smartphone company may not use it in the Galaxy S23. The smartphone maker will only be able to use Snapdragon processors for the next two years. It has assembled an approximately 1,000-strong team of engineers to develop a custom chipset compatible with the high-end Galaxy phones. It could launch as early as 2025.
