Tesla will open Supercharger stations in the US for everyone, including to receive money from the state

Tesla wants electric car owners to be able to use Supercharger charging stations. The company now has an incentive to implement this idea.

Bottom line, the US recently committed billions in funding to EV charging infrastructure. However, charging stations must be available to EVs from multiple manufacturers to receive the funding. Tesla is not eligible for subsidies from the government if its charging stations can be used by everyone.

Although the company had previously announced this initiative, it is currently being implemented slowly in Europe. In Europe, Supercharger stations use a CCS connector. This is a standard used by many automakers. Therefore, Tesla doesn’t need to do anything. North America uses a Tesla station’s proprietary connector. To use it, you will need an adapter. Musk previously stated that such connectors would be installed directly at stations.

Tesla has applied for funding, and the project is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
