In less than a week, Samsung will reveal its Galaxy Watch 5 series smartwatches. We’ve already seen the watch in action and have detailed information about technical features like fast charging.
Samsung will launch several high-end devices on August 10. These include the Galaxy Z flip 4 and Galaxy Z fold 4. We already know about the foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Buds Pro2, their range of premium headphones, and a new generation connected watches, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The design was leaked just a few days back.
We now know the charging speed of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 thanks to SnoopyTech. While we knew the smartwatch would benefit from an upgraded charger, we didn’t know the charging speed for the Galaxy Watch 5..
The Galaxy Watch 5 charges at full speed
According to a leaker, the Galaxy Watch 5 can be charged using 10W. This is twice the speed of the Galaxy Watch 4. According to the leaker, the charger can charge your phone up to 45% in 30 minutes. That’s quite fast for a smartwatch. The charging cable must be connected to a compatible adapter of at minimum 10W. Finally, the charger must be magnetically attached to your smartwatch’s back.
We also see a USB-C connector on the cable. This replaces the old USB-A connection found in previous models. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which is the most expensive model, may also receive a fast charging of at least 10W to recharge its 572 mAh battery. It is more than the 361 mAh battery of the previous generation. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will offer 3 days of autonomy thanks to the new huge battery. The OS side of the watches will be able to benefit from Wear OS 3.5 and a Samsung One UI Watch 4.5 overlay.
