The iPhone 14 Pro will feature live wallpapers that adapt to the always-on display

The iPhone 14’s always-on screen continues to reveal its secrets. Our colleagues at 9to5Mac found new wallpapers while we were looking into iOS16. This can be used to automatically switch into standby mode and darken the image to reveal the different widgets.

Since several months, we have known that the iPhone 14 Pro will feature an always-on display. The first-ever LTPO panel that can change the refresh rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz is what makes this novelty possible. The functionality allows you to display certain information on your lock screen such as the level of autonomy or the progress of deliveries.

We are learning more about the screen today thanks to the work of 9to5mac. The screen will display the user’s widgets and lock the device. This is similar to the Android phones that have this option. A small variant in Apple is also added.

Wallpapers for iPhone 14 Pro mimic the Apple Watch
iOS 16 has many new wallpapers that are quite different from the ones we’re used to. These wallpapers are dynamic and adapt to the conditions of your smartphone. The image darkens automatically when the Always-On screen is activated. This allows for better information.

The behavior of the Apple Watch will be emulated by the iPhone 14 Pro. The wallpaper will automatically switch into Standby mode when the screen is locked. However, the image will still be visible on the smartphone. The wallpaper will automatically return to its normal brightness level once the screen is unlocked. Apple has yet to announce how many live wallpapers it will offer or if this feature applies to all images.
