HBO has revealed the release window for the highly anticipated series. The American channel’s content manager Casey Bloys stated that the film adaptation of The Last of Us will be available on the screens by early 2023. For an exact date, we will need to wait a bit longer.
The anticipation surrounding the adaptation of The Last of Us has increased since the PS5 remake of the original opus of the saga by Naughty Dog was announced. HBO has kept the subject matter very brief, revealing only a few photos to keep community interest.
Many expected the series would be out by the end the year. However, it was revealed in February that the series will not be available until 2023. This was all we knew about the series’ launch for a while. Then, a rumor suggested that it might be broadcast in early 2023. The latter proved correct. Interview with our colleagues at The Hollywood Reporter revealed that HBO’s Head of Content Casey Bloys said that the Last Of Us series will air on the channel in early next year. We don’t have any further information at the moment.
Only a few months left to watch The Last of Us.
This is the only information Casey Bloys attempted to give on the subject. It is not discussed again in the interview. We’ll have to accept this somewhat vague exit window. However, it does provide some information about the progress of the project at HBO’s offices. Let’s not forget, Casey Bloys gave us an objective for the channel, not a precise schedule.
The series could therefore arrive later, for example, at the beginning of 2023 or the end. Even though filming is completed, it’s not unusual for production to be late. This is especially true for ambitious series like The Last of Us which is destined to be HBO’s next flagship. This could mean that we may be entitled to the official trailer for the series before the end 2022. Let’s not forget to be vigilant.
