Apple will pay $50 Million as settlement to a lawsuit regarding its butterfly keyboards.
One of the US class action lawsuits was successful. Depending on the severity of their problems, victims will be awarded between $50 and $395. The most will be given to those who have had their keyboard replaced at least twice and still experience problems over time.
Moreover, 30% of the 50 million will not go to victims. Instead, it will be used for legal expenses and other expenses.
Apple used the butterfly keyboard in its laptops five years ago, from 2015 to 2020. She has proven herself to be unreliable during this period. Apple acknowledged the problem, and extended warranty coverage. However, Apple was still subject to at least three class action lawsuits in the US.
