Intel could introduce Raptor Lake processors in September 27-28.
These dates are the scheduled Intel Innovation event. It is generally dedicated to completely different products. According to the company, the event is intended for developers who specialize in artificial intelligence, client computing and cloud, as well as security and IoT. Intel introduced Alder Lake processors a year earlier at the same event.
Although the announcement can be vague, we can still get some information. According to all data, Raptor Lake processors are more like an enhanced version of Alder Lake than an entirely new generation. They will keep the 10 nm process technology and eight large cores in their maximum configuration. The same microarchitecture is used for smaller cores. However, the number of small cores is expected to double and the microarchitecture for large cores will change. All data suggests that new CPUs will operate at higher frequencies.
