According to the legal brand protection section of Xiaomi, police discovered a warehouse containing counterfeit fully wireless headsets made by a Chinese manufacturer.
Guangzhou police conducted a raid and seized a large amount of counterfeit Redmi and Xiaomi Bluetooth headsets. Although it is unknown how many headsets were sold, the police did seize 2032 units.
The case involved four suspects, and the investigation is ongoing. Xiaomi stated that the standard sentence for selling inferior or counterfeit products is between two and seven years imprisonment.
Redmi Buds 3 Lite were the most popular counterfeit product. They are sold in China as Redmi Buds 3 Youth Edition. The box’s inscription indicates that the headphones were meant for global sale.
