You can now test new features from the major Windows 1122H2 update in the Beta or Release Preview channels. Microsoft releases a lot of bug fixes, and makes new taskbar features available to all users.
Insiders on the Release Preview channel will be able to download the Windows 11 Build 22621.317 update (KB5015885), today. This update is solely focused upon bug fixes. Virtual Sync (VSync), Smart App Control and Camera App were all affected. Windows Profile Service was also updated. This update provides additional fine-tuning to Windows 11 version 22H2 Sun Valley 2, whose final release has been predicted by experts for September. Microsoft has not yet confirmed the update.
Beta Channel hopes for Windows 11 22H2 new features in the fall
The Redmond company will also take over features from the beta channel previously assigned to Windows 11 23H2 on the dev channel. Build 22622.440, KB5015890 introduces taskbar overload. A separate menu displays open and pinned applications that exceed the visual limit of the taskbar. A new design for the “open with” menu is also available.
These features are broken down into waves. This is why not all insiders have them. It is not clear if and when the beta features will make it into the final Windows 11 22H2. Many of the new features may be available in the Release Preview channel, as Microsoft still has two months to finish. Below are the patch notes for the insider previews.
